Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Community Members,

Hello and welcome to La Costa Heights Elementary, a National Blue Ribbon and three time California Distinguished School. I am honored to be serving as the principal of such a remarkable school consisting of outstanding students, expert staff, supportive parents, and involved community members.

Principal

Although located in the city of Carlsbad, LCH is actually one of nine schools in the impressive Encinitas Union School District. We offer a full academic program from kindergarten through sixth grade to approximately 620 students. Here at La Costa Heights we echo the district motto:Together helping children reach for the stars. Our rigorous curriculum and enrichment opportunities sustain us in fulfilling this mission.Children explore and demonstrate their abilities through challenging academic activities as well as creative art, music and drama experiences.

When you visit our campus, I am sure you will agree that a sense of caring and high expectations is evident. There is a friendly vibe where everyone interacts in positive ways and a strong sense of family throughout. Our wonderful staff is dedicated to working collaboratively together, and their commitment to student success is what sets them apart from others. On the website, you will find current information about our school, schedules, staff, classrooms, and exciting events.

Our families and community are an integral part of our school’s success. Parents can be found in countless classrooms, engaged in meaningful work. We encourage you to get involved with the any of the invaluable committees already in action. Our School Site Council (SSC), Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and Encinitas Education Foundation (EEF) groups offer opportunities for rewarding involvement. We are also in the process of forming an English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) to support our school and our second language population.

People are most productive when they feel connected. I look forward to coming to work each day and would like to sincerely thank you for all you do to support our school. Only together can we make a difference in the lives of all children.

Warmly,

Leighangela Brady

Principal
